Taylor is a highly respected computer architect — an engineer who determines what a computer’s functions will be, and in what order those functions will be carried out.
He also has been serving as director of the UC San Diego Center for Dark Silicon, which explores that areas of a computer chip that’s turned off at differing times due to power constraints. Taylor’s work has helped in the development of more energy efficient chips for Android phones.
